Curriculum

Picture
Our school’s curriculum recognizes and embraces that children learn best through play. Students have the opportunity to learn through child-centered activities in arts and crafts, games, science, music, dramatic play, reading, and movement. Material is presented to children with respect to their current developmental abilities and age level. The curriculum changes from year to year to adapt to teacher’s and student’s needs and interests.

A typical year's curriculum focuses on:
  • Arts and crafts projects to promote self expression, creativity, and fine motor skills.
  • Science experiments and activities to explore and introduce basic science through hands on, engaging activities.
  • Cooking projects such as making soup or baking muffins or bread to promote healthy eating, cognitive and fine motor skills, and basic math concepts.
  • Celebrating and learning about Jewish holidays through activities and circle time discussions.
  • Outdoor experiences to promote physical activity, imagination, and exploring nature in all seasons.
  • Music exposure through live music, singing, and hands on experiences to promote movement, expression, and experiences.
  • Pre-K activities with older students to focus on and encourage kindergarten readiness.
  • Monthly field trips to give students exposure to different settings in the community, from a local farm, to a grocery store, the airport, or a show!
